About Alister Christie (me)
I have been programming in Delphi since 1999, primarily building and maintaining applications for the real estate industry here in New Zealand, in this role I have also used other technologies such a C#, Ruby on Rails, Android/Java and other, but Delphi is my favorite environment. I have presented at 4 of the CodeRage conferences put on by Embarcadero, these are online conferences that last for an entire week with thousands of participants (the replays for all of my presentations are available on this site), I have also been involved in other online Delphi events such as "24 Hours of Delph with David I". Most of my videos also appear on YouTube, for which I have over half a million views, and over a thousand subscribers.
In 2012 Embarcadero invited me to join a select group of Delphi experts from around the world to form the Embarcadero MVP program, to which fewer than 50 people worldwide have been admitted (an I'm the only one from New Zealand).
I also play guitar, invest in real estate, regularly work out at the gym, and of course maintain the LearnDelphi.tv website.
I have been maintaining LearnDelphi.tv since 2006, (rebranded from codegearguru.com in 2011). LearnDelphi.tv is now the premier website for providing video tutorials on how to use Delphi. In addition to the free content that is available, I have also produced a commercial series of videos. These videos go into far more depth and have better structure than my free content, while still maintaining my informal style that has made my videos so popular in the past.
