About Alister Christie (me)

I'm primarily a Delphi programmer (Win32) but have done a little C# (currently one small application for the compact framework) and write software for the real estate industry in New Zealand - which sounds pretty obscure, but I'm sure if you're specific about what you do it is likely to sound just as obscure.  I work in a small company where there is only one-two application developers plus some other support staff.

Am I really a guru?  In a word no.  But the domain name was available and it sounded pretty cool, so I guess I'm going to have do my best at pretending to be a guru, which should atleast count for something.

Over the years I've had to be pretty self reliant in solving problems which has generally ment learning programming techniques the hard way, through trial-and-error, reading books, newsgroups and lots of googling.  Which brings me to my next topic (and why I have created...)

About CodeGearGuru.com

I've created CodeGearGuru.com as way of giving back to the community some of the knowldge I've gained in working with Borland/CodeGear products.  I'm doing this primarily in the form of video because I have found this is one of the best ways of learning to program - short of having your own personal guru.

I know plenty about Delphi for Win32 and not much (as yet) about .net, Java or Interbase.  I also don't know much about making money via the internet so there are going to be some fun times ahead.
